Jordan lies in the Middle East; Israel and the West Bank to its west, Iraq to its east, Syria to its north and Saudi Arabia to its south. Jebel Rum, at 1,734m is Jordan's highest point while the Dead Sea, at -408m, is the lowest point.

Although consisting mostly of desert, the small country has a surprising range of climates. Temperatures in the Kingdom range from below zero celsius in the winter to just under 40 degrees celsius in the summer. The moderate climates of spring and autumn are ideal times to visit Jordan.

A Word on Safety

Jordan lies in the heart of the Middle East which may leave many potential visitors uncertain of its safety. Despite its location, Jordan is a peaceful country which welcomes tourism with open arms. As in any foreign country, it is advisable to refrain from attending political gatherings and to exercise caution by being aware of your surroundings.

At Bedouin Discovery, we prefer to err on the side of caution and refrain from taking you to the northern borders of the country and to the eastern deserts. This is simply to ensure you stay as far away as possible from potential hotspots in neighboring countries.

We invite you to explore some of the sites of Jordan through the eyes of the Bedouin.
